No reasons why Uruguay is sanctioned by FIFA and may be out of World Cup in Brazil, said on Tuesday Efe Hannibal Olivera lawyer who until Monday was general secretary of the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF).

The Executive Council of the AUF, presiding Sebastian Bauza, resigned Monday in the wake of the dispute arising from stadium violence which has led the government of President Jose Mujica to withdraw the police from the two major sports venues country.

"The facts of public notoriety occurred in recent years demonstrate the need to step aside and allow other political views accord football governance," said the board of the AUF in his resignation letter.

"I do not think the decision of the Uruguayan government to intervene in a matter of concern to the whole society, as violence in football, to be considered in the concept of intervention that handles FIFA for possible sanctions," said De Oliveira today .

He said that the resignation was due to "lack of support" from most clubs the Executive Council of the AUF.

He said the resignation of the Executive Council "should not affect" the preparation of the selection for the World Cup in Brazil.

The process of selection "has been successful, positive results were achieved and whether they are all organized for the World Cup," he added.

"We trust that future AUF authorities maintain support for the process of selections that has given us so much satisfaction to all Uruguayans," he added.

The resignation of the Executive Council headed by Bauza came after last Thursday that President Mujica announced the withdrawal of the police custody of the major stadiums in the country, Central Park, the National, and the centennial of Peñarol.

Mujica justified its decision by recurring violent incidents in recent years in these scenarios, the last in the Cup match Libertadoers last Wednesday between Nacional and Newell's Old Argentine Boys, which left forty prisoners, thirteen policemen injured and considerable damage.
